Agreements
Honoring our human experience requires a container of trust. This container varies from activity to activity, but these foundational agreements apply to all events and programs at the SF Contemplarium.
Agreements to Create Space for Honoring
1. Journal to honor – Prompts are guidelines, you know best what you need.
2. Listen to honor – Embody respect and curiosity. Avoid judgment, comparison, critique, debate, psychoanalysis. Show support quietly with soft snaps or gestures.
3. Speak to honor – Share from your own heart and experience. No lecturing or persuading.
4. Choose to pass – Share what’s comfortable. Honor with silence.
5. Choose to be here – Anyone can leave anytime, no questions asked.
6. Confidentiality – Take away learnings, but don’t identify specific individuals. Ask first if you want to follow up with something someone said with them.
Agreements to Create Community
1. Respect – We honor each others’ dignity and autonomy.
2. Curiosity – We seek to learn and grow from each other.
3. Courage – We show up for each other even when it isn’t easy.
4. Compassion – We show care for each other in our words and actions.
By participating in any SF Contemplarium event or program, I commit to honoring these agreements.
